At first I thought to myself, why would I need more bags for my bag? But being open to trying new things, I gave packing cubes a shot. I did a brief search and some comparison shopping on amazon and decided on these.
Fast forward to a quick weekend trip to NC (from NYC) and we gave these packing cubes a try. WOW! Who knew that they would be so helpful! First of all, when packing for multiple people, to have items pre-sorted in these packing cubes are so convenient. I wanted to grab my sweater since it was cold on the plane, I didn’t need to go digging deep down into the tote, I could just pull out the cube that it was in (and I could tell easily because of the see-through netting on the front of the cubes). Plus returning it to the bag was very easy, since everything else was in packing cubes, I could just slide it back into place.
While in NC it was nice to keep dirty clothes separate from the clean clothes. It made packing to return home more efficient. Upon returning home it was also very pleasant to just empty the sorted dirty clothes into the hamper and any leftover clean clothes were still folded and put right back in the drawers. It might seem like a minor efficiency, but I’m the type that can keep a bag unpacked for weeks due to an overdramatization of the effort in my mind. The secret weapon of pre-sorted dirty laundry kept me motivated to unpack immediately.
Overall, packing cubes are fairly inexpensive and I’d recommend to give them a shot! They can even be used as toiletry bags, snack holders, etc…! There really isn’t a downside to them!
