This post is dedicated to our carry-on only readers hitting a wall recruiting key people in their lives (i.e. spouse, partner, parents, etc…) to the carry-on only policy. These are people we travel with most and if they aren’t traveling carry-on only, we still end up at baggage check-in and baggage claim (shudders). This post is also for those transitioning their travel habits from checking bags to traveling carry-on only (round of applause)!
Don’t let toiletries knock you out of carry-on only status. If you refuse to use the toiletries provided at your destination and must use your special lotion, there are many solutions that can still allow you to bring your favorite toiletries and still avoid checking your bags. There are so many toiletry travel sets available (amazon, target, rite aid, etc…) but how do you know which to choose?
The sets that include decanting tools are appealing since they make the transfer of the liquids much easier such as this one:
Colors can help narrow down your choice as well although my preference is clear.
Many of these sets come in a clear zipper pouch which are fine, but most I have found that I usually source my own (better looking) zipper pouch and toss the one that came with the set. So if you come across a set that doesn’t have a pouch, less waste and hopefully some $$$ saved. I’ll speak out the pouches soon ;).
As with many of our suggestions at COO, these should be fairly inexpensive and you will love having your favorite toiletries with you on your next trip!
